When you say the family name in volleyball circles, you'll get near-mythical stories of patriarch Garth Pischke's international dominance as a two-time Olympian for the Canadian National Team.
Taylor is beginning to write her own story.
Her introduction to beach volleyball started at University of California Santa Barbara on an indoor volleyball scholarship. As a Freshman, she was fully-immersed in the SoCal life and the sport and knew she had found her passion.
Following a sparkling indoor career at the University of Manitoba that culminated in the CIS National Championship in 2014 and a 4.0 GPA, Taylor turned her full attention to her beach volleyball career.
Success soon followed.
She won a Bronze Medal at the U23 World Championships in 2013 and 2014 and finished fifth at the Pan Am Games in Toronto 2015.
In the off-season, Taylor embodies the beach volleyball lifestyle.
She appeared in Sportsnet Magazine's Beauty of Sport issue and was an advocate for women's strength and beauty in Dove's "My Beauty My Say" campaign in 2016.
At 5-foot-11, Taylor is known as a "tweener" — equally capable of blocking and digging — and she'll move into a more defensive role with new partner and Rio 2016 Olympian, Kristina Valjas.
She enters the 2017 FIVB World Tour with a renewed pursuit of the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
