Chris Del Bosco has simply been the most dominant ski cross athlete in the sport's short history.

But before the X Games gold medals and the World Championship win, Chris battled more than just his competition.

Personal struggles with alcohol led to a car crash at 21 that almost claimed his life.

After his sister Heather convinced him to go to rehab, he was given an opportunity for redemption when he got a call from Canada’s Ski Cross Team.

His Canadian passport made him eligible to compete for the country in the sport’s Olympic debut at the Vancouver 2010 Games where he finished fourth.

Today, he’s won two X Games gold medals and a World Championship, and has earned a reputation as a feared competitor but the Olympic podium has remained just out of reach.

In 2015, Chris made his presence known with two wins and three podiums to open the season.

But don't call it a comeback.

The sport's all-time podium leader was just waiting for the right time to re-emerge as a world-ruler with a bigger prize on his mind.

And, in 2018, he’ll look for another chance to race for the Olympic gold in Pyeongchang.
