Phoebe Balshin, BComm, Marketing
Phoebe is a graduate of McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management with a major in Marketing and minor in Finance.
During her time at McGill, Phoebe served as a teaching assistant and marketing consultant, working on projects for brands such as Birks Jewellery, Clearly Kombucha, and The Montreal Canadiens. Her work with Birks Jewellery inspired a case study she co-authored ‘Birks: The Sparkle of a Cherished Brand,’ published by Harvard Business Review.
Upon graduation, Phoebe entered into the marketing space, working in consumer packaged goods before moving over to AIR MILES where she managed B2B partnership relationships, influencer relations and digital campaigns for their affiliate program.
She has spent the last year and a half at the NHL agency, The Sports Corporation, working with players and prospects to develop their personal brands and manage their sponsorship opportunities. Athletes Phoebe worked with included the first player under NHL contract to come out as gay, Luke Prokop, and three-time NHL All Star Sebastian Aho.
In addition to her full-time work, Phoebe volunteers for Smashfest, helping to plan and execute their annual ping pong tournament that raises money for rare cancer and concussions research.
